QuadLabs Storms the Desert at the Rally Desert Strom 2012.

March 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Rally Desert Storm is organized by Northern Motorsport and is sponsored by Maruti Suzuki India ltd. The rally started from Delhi and went all the way from Sardarshahar to Bikaner and then Jaisalmer and crossed the Great Runn of Kucth before ending at Ahmedabad.
   
Mr. Gaurav Chiripal, CEO Quadlabs himself drove the rally prepared Grand Vitara and finished 2nd over-all in Xtreme category and stood 1st in 1800+CC modified category.
Mr.Gaurav Chiripal; “It was a real thrilling experience driving on these terrains and competing amongst the best of drivers from India. We got stuck in Sand while overtaking the cars in front and on the first day itself we were pushed back to 11th position on the grid.”

The battle was immense as the best of drivers from all across India gathered for this annual event. Teams backed by Mahindra, Thunderbolt, Maruti and Tatas were present with best in class cars and drivers

With 3 fastest stages on day 2 and day 3, Gaurav managed to climb up to position 2 with 36 minutes behind the leader from team Thunderbolt. They saw another blow in the chase when their engine failed to start on day 4th just before the longest stage of 340km. They had to accept 1 min penalty to have the service guys push the car out of the starting line and get the car started. With the engine low on compression, they still managed to complete the mammoth stage and cover up 20 minutes on the leader. With about 16 minutes behind the leader and just 75km left in the rally, the task looked very difficult. However they kept the spirits alive and next day managed to catch up on the leader. But while overtaking him in the stage they went off route and got a flat. With over 50 Km to go they had no choice but to stop and change the tyre. Overall in the end they finished 2nd with over 30 minutes lead over team Mahindra in 3rd position.

Last year QuadLabs also participated in the Rally of Mughul Road held in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. QuadLabs won the Rally with a huge margin on other teams.  
Mr. Chiripal; “I really loved driving on the beautiful sand dunes in Jaiselmer and the gigantic the Great Runn of Kutch. I must say that every Indian should visit these places for once in a lifetime experience.”
