(March 15, 2012) – On March 24, 2012, The Gift of Giving Project will kick off its first annual red carpet fundraiser event at North Hollywood High School at 3pm to help needy orphans in Kenya. Their goal? To raise money and collect donated items to fill a 40ft shipping container that will later be converted into a library. What are they looking for? Everyday items like used laptops, blankets, electronics, educational tools, sports equipment and non-perishable food, just to name a few. These items will be shipped to Nairobi, Kenya in May for a July 2012 delivery.
Produced by Facé of Face2Face Entertainment Talent Management, Emceed by UK hostess Liz Fuller and the North Hollywood High School Student Leadership, the fundraiser event will be an exciting afternoon full of dance, music, and fashion. There will be artwork by Olympic Artist Jesse Raudales up for silent auction. Dance performances will be performed by choreographer FREE, Klaamation Crew and the North Hollywood Leadership Students (choreographed by Deja Jones). Guests will also enjoy a fashion show modeled by the students. Fashion Designer Don DeMarco and other designers will show their styles on the runway. Music performances will include Ty ‘Mista’ Perkins, David Ruffin Jr. and Lil Niqo aka “Boy Wonder.”
Celebrities confirmed to attend and walk the red carpet so far are Mario Van Peebles, Kym Whitley, Terrell Tilford, Bai Ling, Natalie Gal, Miguel Nunez, Jr., Liz Fuller, Ernest Harden, Jr.
Other scheduled attendees are a representative of the Consulate General of Kenya in Los Angeles, and the Consulate General of Argentina in Los Angeles, Mr. Jorge Teodoro Lapsenson.
The Gift of Giving Project is supported by Key Club International, Dusty Feet, the North Hollywood Neighborhood Council, the NoHo Arts District and the North Hollywood Farmer’s Market.
The Gift of Giving Project Fundraiser Event will take place on Saturday, March 24th, 2012 at North Hollywood High School.
