Dublin, Ireland, 15 March, 2012: TERMINALFOUR (http://www.terminalfour.com), a leading web content management company, today announced that it secured €3.6 million worth of new business in emerging markets in 2011 as it continued its strong global expansion. By the end of the year, TERMINALFOUR had expanded into 5 continents, and had clients spanning Ireland, the UK, Switzerland, France, the US, Canada, South Africa, and Hong Kong.

The growth has been facilitated in part by the creation of fifteen new roles within the company, including three new senior management appointments.

TERMINALFOUR launched its flagship web content management system (WCMS), TERMINALFOUR Site Manager, in 2001 and has since grown its client base to include more than 300 customers worldwide in higher education, Government and international bodies, finance and retail organisations. In 2011, exports accounted for 91% of new business revenue.

The US continues to be a strong growth market for TERMINALFOUR, and particularly the higher education market, where a significant number of new wins bring the total worldwide university client count to 100.  TERMINALFOUR Site Manager now powers more than 1,800 university websites, more than any other commercial WCMS vendor.   It is also continuing to grow the UK and Canadian markets, including signing six local county councils and its first government customer in Canada.

The company now counts some of the world’s most prestigious higher education institutions among its clients, including University of St Andrews, University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Oxford, Columbia University and University College Dublin. Other clients include Specsavers, Aer Lingus and the Ministry of Culture & Information, Kingdom of Bahrain.

The TERMINALFOUR Advantage Partner Programme plays a key role in the company’s international expansion activities and it signed 21 new partners around the world since 2010, who are working to provide opportunities to scale and drive growth in new territories.

Entering new markets will continue to be a focus in 2012, and TERMINALFOUR recently won its first customers in South Africa and Hong Kong as well as opening its first office in Sydney, Australia. It now has operations based in Dublin, Boston, London and Sydney.

Piero Tintori, Chief Executive Officer, TERMINALFOUR, said, “2011 was an exceptional year for us as we grew our international sales, won a number of customers in new and high-growth markets, and opened our Australian office. We have a strong presence in North America and across Europe, and over the coming years we are committed to developing these markets as well as exploring new avenues.
“Enterprise Ireland’s global network has been an invaluable support to us as an Irish organisation with a rapidly expanding international base. Having the ability to leverage their local knowledge, skills and contacts has enabled us to enter these new markets quickly and effectively.”

As an Enterprise Ireland client, TERMINALFOUR has worked closely with its International Office Network to seek out new opportunities abroad.  TERMINALFOUR also continues to leverage the resources of its key investors The Ulster Bank Diageo Venture Fund, managed by NCB Ventures, and The AIB Seed Capital Fund, managed by the Dublin Business Innovation Centre (DBIC)

Jim Cuddy, Dept Manager, Finance and Enterprise Software in Enterprise Ireland said: “Software is one of Ireland’s key growth sectors both in terms of employment and exports.  The continued success of the Irish software sector depends on developing a cohort of highly successful companies capable of establishing leading positions in niche markets.   We strongly commend TERMINALFOUR’s achievements in five overseas markets, securing significant export growth to underpin valuable employment back home.”
