April 2012

The Litchfield Center School students found inspiration in the masterful paintings of Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh to create their own diverse variety of landscapes, cityscapes, self portraits and abstract animals.  Their bold use of color, lines and shapes are found in their beautiful art creations.

The Litchfield Intermediate School students display their knowledge of the elements of art and the principles of design by utilizing a variety of media techniques inspired by the work of Kandinsky, LeWitt and Faith Ringold.  Critiques encouraged the students to evaluate their work to strengthen their understanding of artistic mediums, applications, and interpretations.

The Litchfield High School art students' work bears witness to their inspiration, dedication and skill.  Their exhibit represents the advanced talents of National Art Society members as well as students who have produced senior portfolios to be considered for the 2012 Art Awards at Litchfield High School.

In the gallery: Litchfield Center School and the Litchfield Intermediate School from April 2- April 12.
