NCCPAP and AICPA Give Scholarships to High School Graduates Aspiring to be Certified Public Accounts

Scholarships awarded to ten high school graduates spanning seven states

March 14, 2012 - PRLog -- MINEOLA, NEW YORK –  March 15, 2012 – In a joint educational program designed to financially assist and encourage aspiring Certified Public Accountants, the National Conference of CPA Practitioners (ncCPAp) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) have awarded scholarships to ten high school graduates spanning seven states.

This is the program’s ninth year. Scholarship applicants are graduating high school seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.3, and have been accepted as full time students at either a two or four year college. Applicants were required to write an essay on why they want to be a Certified Public Accountant.

“ncCPAp is always excited about the opportunity to provide scholarships to aspiring accountants,” said President, Lana Kupferschmid. “One of ncCPAp’s goals is to serve and support the next generation of accountants, and these scholarship winners have shown themselves to have great potential. We look forward to what they may accomplish in the future.”

Graduating students interested in applying for next year’s ncCPAp scholarship have until December 15, 2012 to file an application. In addition, ncCPAp is now awarding scholarships to accounting college students entering their third year. Applications for these scholarships are due July 1, 2012.
