Due to it’s popularity and widespread use by organizations around the world, the GCFLearnFree.org team chose to do a complete overhaul of Computer Basics, updating all educational content within the lessons. In the Fall, the text, informational graphics, and interactives were updated and recently, GCFLearnFree.org launched 14 brand new video tutorials.
The new Computer Basics topic addresses new technologies, like the iPad, applications, and cloud computing. As some of these learning concepts are more abstract, the team chose a new approach to the video tutorials, utilizing conceptual animations and 3-D type graphics to better demonstrate the parts of the computer.
“Although our Computer Basics topic was created for the adult beginner computer user, lessons like "What is the Cloud?" or "Understanding Operating Systems" could be used by a variety of technology learners. I’m really pleased with the quality and thoroughness of the educational content and I think visitors to the site will be really impressed with what we have to offer,” stated Matt Robinson, Regional Director of GCFLearnFree.org.
