March 27, 2012 - PRLog -- PEACHTREE CORNERS, Georgia  –  Ashworth College (http://www.ashworthcollege.edu/military/), announced that it will be continuing its sponsorship of the 2012 Ft. Benning Eggstravaganza -- an annual egg hunt coordinated by the Fort Benning Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR). This is the second year the online school is sponsoring the event.

The annual event will take place the morning of March 31 on the Post Commander’s lawn. An opportunity for active duty families to interact with the larger base community, members of the Ashworth Military Education team will be on hand with refreshments.

"Last year was a great opportunity to meet members of the Ft. Benning Community and to interact with several students who are already enrolled in one of our online programs,” said Rodney Butler, U.S. Army First Sergeant, Retired and Ashworth College Military Education Coordinator on behalf of the accredited online school.  “We continue to be committed to all aspects of Ft. Benning, including events like the Eggstravaganza that gives back to the families who dedicate their lives to the military.”

Butler also mentioned one of the benefits Ashworth brings to Ft. Benning is its knowledge of education benefits programs specifically for military spouses. “Many spouses are unaware that programs like MyCAA exist,” Butler added. “With up to $4,000 in education benefits available, Ashworth’s low credit hour cost of $64 makes it possible for military spouses to earn a career diploma, certificate or degree using only MyCAA benefits, with zero out of pocket costs to them.”

In addition to sponsoring programs and events with Ft. Benning FMWR, Ashworth is recognized as a Yellow Ribbon School and as a military friendly school by both G.I. Jobs and Military Advanced Education magazines. The online school also sponsors the Army Wife Network Field Exercise series, supports a campus chapter of the Student Veteran’s Association and was a sponsor of Military Spouse magazine’s 2010 and 2011 Military Spouse of the Year Award programs.
