Money Seemingly Doesn't Buy Everything

The Premier League title race is hotting up, looking like it might be the tightest battle for quite some time.

March 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Well, it's been done for the first time in a good 5 months, Manchester City have been knocked off the Premier League's top spot. There have been signs creeping in for a little while now, that all hasn't been quite so well in the Sky Blues' camp, their performances have dropped and seemingly, so has their confidence.

Everyone thought the championship crown was pretty much wrapped up after that amazing 6-1 demolition in October (the same month City consolidated top) but Manchester United, despite having their own wobbles, have remained persistent and while once again not playing inspiring football, they've smashed through opposition and kept up the chase.

The Red Devils now have the reward they craved, sitting at the helm of the league, where they so often end up it will be hard to see them letting up now. Of course, if they both keep up the pace of being flat track bullies then it will all be dramatically decided at the season's close, making it one of the most intriguing title battles for some time.

While all is certainly not said and done between the 2, what this proves, moreso than anything else is that money doesn't buy everything, built up success and tradition still rules the day. That's not to say Manchester United haven't spent a pretty penny over the years, they have but have built it up naturally unlike their newly noisy neighbours. There's a division in attitude throughout the British public, some are happy to see someboy new come in and shake things up a little but others simply aren't happy at the money aspect, it's not natural in many people's eyes. It, money, of course is ruining the sport as clubs consistently fail to keep on top of their finances, in the push to always be the best, see Rangers for example.

With new financial rules coming in to play in the coming seasons, means the City domination can't continue for too long anyway but it would mean a lot for the sport as a whole, if they didn't prosper at all. The correct needs to be sent out fo rth future of the sport, English football as an institution is suffering as the iron like grip of finance, takes its toll.
