The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge Welcomes Tim Toohey as Executive Chef

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar. 14, 2012 - Tim Toohey has joined The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge as Executive Chef. With 20 years of culinary experience, Toohey has an extensive background ranging from luxury hotels to global corporate dining. As Executive Chef at The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge, Toohey will oversee the hotel’s banquet and pastry kitchens, Gallery Restaurant and culinary operations at The Spa at Ballantyne and The Lodge at Ballantyne, ensuring the highest level of quality and consistency as it relates to food preparation and presentation.

Prior to joining The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge, Toohey served as Group Executive Chef for UK and Ireland Restaurant Associates (a division of Compass Group) at Bank of America – Merrill Lynch in London. Before that, Toohey worked as an Executive Chef in Charlotte for Bank of America and Microsoft Corporation.

Toohey has held culinary positions all over the world, including Five-Star hotels such as the Hyatt Hotel Canberra and Fairmont Resort in Australia.

Originally from Australia, Toohey received his certificate in professional cookery from the New South Wales Government School. Toohey and his family reside in Huntersville, NC.
