The Seventh Sense opened their doors in February of 2011. Art Sense art education evolved later that year from the desire of two young working artists, Tamara Becker and Matt Garber, to create a children’s program that actually taught real world art and was fun and interesting.  Although both are in their early twenties they starting working with kids while still in high school and learned what they liked and didn’t like. The feedback received from parents and the children who have attended make it clear they have found their calling. Older kids in the classes have been seen passing up pizza so they could get more time to finish a project and the younger ones are unusually quiet.

Workshops are held Saturday and Sunday with two sessions grouped by age. Snacks and drinks provided along with storytelling and extra activities for littler children.

The weekend workshops developed by the artists came about because they have been pursuing art careers with success but still wanted to make time for what they both enjoy - interacting with kids. Using unique materials –duct tape, wood, and even crushed berries, provides a real world experience.
