“The ‘Rookie Award’ is given to those volunteers who within their first year have gone above and beyond,” said Janine Pullman, director of volunteers, Jewish Family Services. “The volunteers from The Legacy have done a tremendous job. They always show up and always do their jobs with smiles on their faces! When they are not here we miss them, and they miss us as well.”
Each week, staff members and residents from the assisted living and memory care programs of The Legacy go to JFS and package kosher meals for north Dallas seniors. They lay the food out, assemble them into meals, and then package them for delivery.
“The Legacy at Willow Bend is proud to accept the ‘Rookie Award’ on behalf of our volunteers who dedicate their time each week to the Meals on Wheels program,” said Lana Van Giesen, executive director, The Legacy at Willow Bend. “The JFS is a great organization, and we are happy to be a part of their community efforts.”
