LM100Malta - a group of local personalities with different cultural and artistic expertise - was officially launched at the hotel last week. The goal of this new interesting committee is to highlight the creativity of Malta’s cultural scene by opening an innovative dialogue. Committee members will use Le Méridien St Julians Hotel & Spa as an inspiring canvas to come up with interactive initiatives, articulated around art, culture, cuisine and experiences that stimulate the senses of the creative class. This new way of approaching the various aspects of the vibrant Maltese artistic lifestyle will be used to promote both Le Méridien as a creative hub and the respective local institutions represented by the members of LM100Malta. In a joined inter-disciplinary effort, the group is currently working on a yearly calendar with relevant events adapted to the hotel’s brand message. Projects in the pipeline include interesting events such photographic exhibitions, soundscape performances, inter-active installations and more. LM100Malta is an inspiring partnership where all parties will get the opportunity to convey their passion to the right audience and market it with a whole different perspective.
Indeed, Le Méridien St Julians Hotel & Spa – part of Le Méridien hotels worldwide – boasts a mission statement that is closely intertwined with arts and creativity. Its Brand shares a passion for style, art, architecture, design, cuisine and fashion. Through partnerships with artists, Le Méridien hotels worldwide provide a place of discovery for anyone interested in exploring the modern culture of the local destination they are traveling to. Throughout the years, Le Méridien has forged fruitful relationships with cultural institutions around the globe, targeting the creative class and bringing alive its core values. This couldn’t have been achieved without the introduction, back in 2007, of an international Le Méridien creative committee called LM100. This group of renowned personalities with a vast experience in different artistic fields played a tremendous role in leading the global Brand further on its creative path. The members of LM100 came up with branded artistic concepts that soon became standards for all Le Méridien properties around the world.
It is clear that Le Méridien Brand certainly managed to capture the consumers’ growing interest for cultural and artistic exploration. But the rise of the creative class is a reality in Malta too. The management of Le Méridien St Julians Hotel & Spa saw it as an increasing necessity to extend its support to the interesting cultural scene in Malta - which is yet to be unveiled to the eyes of most international travelers. “Malta is known overseas for its past cultural heritage, which is undeniably unique and enriching”, explains Mr. Vella, General Manager at Le Méridien St Julians Hotel & Spa. “But little do they know about the vibrancy of today’s talents in many different artistic fields. In Malta, we have talented performers and artists exploring so many styles. For such a small territory, the density of creative minds is impressive and deserves to be praised on the international scene. This powerful stream of creativity needed a common platform to unite their strength and passions.”
Indeed, inspired by the global LM100 concept, the Management Team of Le Méridien St Julians Hotel & Spa sensed that a lot more could be done. They approached some of the biggest names associated to culture in Malta. In return, the selected members embraced the initiative with a lot of enthusiasm. The hotel didn’t hesitate to go above and beyond expectations in order to convey their strong belief in this innovative project. All selected partners were invited to the official launch of this local creative committee, called LM100Malta in remembrance of its global big brother LM100. This first successful meeting was held at the property on Monday 5th of March. For the occasion, the room was set up in an interactive manner, giving the participants the possibility to experience the interactive Brand concepts that are already activated at the hotel. Together, the new Creative Ambassadors of Le Méridien St Julians Hotel & Spa went through a full interactive presentation of LM100Malta concept, followed by a brainstorming session that proved to be extremely encouraging. No doubt that we will hear about LM100Malta again in the very near future.
