Highland School (540) 878-2794 bbogin@highlandschool.org Warrenton,Va.-- On Saturday, February 25th, Lucas welcomed his 6th grade classmates into his home, for an afternoon of class-wide sports and games. As part of the invitation, each student was asked to bring items for donation to the food bank, which—as Lucas recognized—often struggles just after holiday giving season to meet the community’s needs “The Food Bank gets a lot of attention and donations during the holidays, and there are so many families in our area who are struggling to feed their families,” Lucas wrote in the invitation to his classmates. “I wanted to help and I thought as a class we could do something together to make a difference.” Lucas and Cameron Smith, 6th grade classmate, delivered the food to Fauquier Community Food Bank on Monday, February 27th. # # # About Highland: Founded in 1928, Highland School now serves 480 students from PK to 12th grade.
