Additionally, the 1-137th Assault Helicopter Battalion can be linked to three other highly professional organizations:
Since its inception, the 1-137th became a driving force in the arena of aviation maintenance, with tasks to command both active and reserve components. These soldiers can be attributed with a high level of reliability and mission capable airframes were directly linked to their dedicated service.
The 107th Medical Company (Air Ambulance) and Company D (AVIM) 137th Aviation Regiment are two separate organizations under the operational control of the 1-137th. Talk about having all your bases covered with medical support. The 107th comes from the 4/107th ACR and counterparts in aviation from the Army Reserve. Company d (AVIM) began as Administrative Company, 37th Infantry Division but was ultimately reorganized to join the 137th.
With their slogan, "Maintaining Freedom", the 1-137th Assault Helicopter Battalion reminds us of the many sacrifices our soldiers have made and continue to make to ensure our freedom as an American people. Flying their latest UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters (which replaced the "Hueys" or 15 UH-1H), they are always ready to perform their mission at a moment's notice.
