Digital Pet Portrait Artist Offers Visual Treasures During National Pet Ownership and Adoption Celebrations

March 12, 2012 - Los Angeles digital artist Joe Dea, whose work is part of the permanent collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art, is commemorating the role animals play in our lives with portraits based on pet owners’ own favorite photographs of their beloved furry companions.

“With ‘Be Kind to Animals Week’ and ‘National Pet Week’ in May and ‘Take Your Dog To Work Day’ in June, people will be reminded of the documented health benefits of the human-animal bond,” Dea said. “My digital portraits turn that emotional bond into a permanent remembrance to be cherished forever.”

Dea’s sensitive art technique combines his visual effects and design experience to create captivating digitally hand painted portraits on studio canvas, with brushstrokes that look like an impressionist master painting in oils. Clients simply email Dea a photo and he “paints” the portrait. The process takes time, but Dea’s work is in high demand and the numerous testimonials on his website speak eloquently of the love and affection people have for their original digital pet portraits.

“My father-in-law, George, cried when he saw the portrait of Luke and has it hanging in a place of honor in his home,” said Chris Vandewater of Carlsbad, CA. “Also, we have another dog that was close to Luke and he started barking when he saw it!”

“My husband surprised me for Christmas with the most magnificent portrait of our three pugs,” said Kendie Schlecht of Irvine, CA. “When I look at the portrait, I see everything that I love most about my boys and remember everything that I love most about the family that I have.”

Dea’s website, www.portraits-by-joseph.com, shows proof enough that a precious pet’s memory can be preserved as a loving masterpiece.
