March 12, 2012 - PRLog -- (08 March, 2012) – Light sleepers in Lancashire are being encouraged to have a restful March to help them live a happier, more productive life. A recent Great British Sleep Survey revealed half of Britain’s population is struggling to drift off at night, and a Preston health and wellbeing expert is supporting a month long campaign to help improve the nation’s sleep.

March marks the start of National Bed Month, a nationwide month long campaign headed by The Sleep Council to highlight the benefits of a good night's sleep to our health and wellbeing. Whilst rest and relaxation is a vital function for everyday life, many people suffer from a lack of sleep which is having a devastating effect on their lives. Furthermore, the Great British Sleep Survey1 found out of the 11,129 adults interviewed, 55% reported stress as a result of trouble sleeping, whilst a staggering 83% reported problems with their mood as a result of insomnia.

Owner of Preston based therapeutic massage company Ceragem, Julie Gyi, is keen supporter of the National Bed Month campaign and appreciates the importance of a relaxed state of mind in the pursuit of a good night’s sleep. Indeed, Julie commented: “I strongly recommend to all my clients that massage, yoga or other holistic therapies can help keep stress at bay and allow them to get a good night’s sleep. A regular therapeutic massage also aids this process, increasing the body’s ability to relax.”

Therefore, Lancashire’s light sleepers need to take time to unclutter the mind and release themselves from the stresses of the day in order to catch a good night’s sleep, leading to healthier, more productive and ultimately happier life.
