By: Alison Page The all-new 1.0-litre engine in the Ford Focus 1.0 ECOboost uses a tiny, three cylinder petrol engine, including a turbocharger that helps produce the same 123bhp as Ford’s most powerful non-turbo 1.6, whilst improving fuel economy and CO2 emission by more than 20%. And, because the engine is so light, it helps the car’s weight distribution and provides more space under the bonnet for crash protection. The new engine has been launched in the Focus first, with plans for the C-MAX, Grand C-MAX and new B-MAX compact MPV by the end of the year. A de-tuned version with 99bhp and even better fuel consumption will also be offered. The all new Ford Focus is available from £13,995 OTR including VAT. Justine Chapman, Sales Director for Roy Chapman Ltd said: "Gone are the days when the number of cylinders dictates performance. This car is not only great fun to drive, but it delivers fuel economy improvements and ultra-low CO2 emissions which will lead to real cost savings for our customers."
