March 12, 2012 - PRLog -- Observe the daily religious activities at the Shwedagon Pagoda by Buddhists who consider it to be the holiest place in the region. Tour the ancient monuments of Bagan including captivating pagodas and temples famous for their interior paintings and writings.

The small group of women on this tour will enjoy a leisurely boat ride on the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River and see the how the locals live on and near the water. Marvel at the artistry of the locals as you visit handicraft workshops and see the colorful markets of Yangon. Take part in a Myanmar curry cooking class and have the chance to sample a wide range of traditional recipes.

Head up to Kandawgyi National Botanical Gardens and marvel at some 300 orchid species and a wide range of indigenous trees, bamboo and roses amidst the stunning landscape. Visit tribal villages and spend peaceful time at Inle Lake.

Perhaps the best experience of all, however, will be when the group has the honor in serving lunch to the hundreds of nuns at the Sagaing Nunnery. A portion of  the tour cost will be donated to purchase this meal for the nuns in residence as part of WanderTours Giving Program.

Encounter all these enticing sights, senses and flavors in WanderTours’ 12-day Myanmar (Burma) Women-only Culture and Pagoda Tour from October 29 to November 9, 2012, to be led by Beth Whitman, publisher and founder of Wanderlust and Lipstick and WanderTours.
