BAR HARBOR, Maine- The Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce announces the dates for 2012 Taste of Bar Harbor, May 12- May 19. This popular annual event highlights the diverse local restaurants and culinary styles of this quaint coastal town.
During the week, participating Bar Harbor eateries will be hosting wine and beer tastings, cooking demonstrations, cooking classes, and special menus for $20.12. This could include an appetizer and glass of wine, dinner for two, or even a three-course meal, depending on the restaurant. Featured Taste of Bar Harbor events will be held throughout the week, starting with a Pub Crawl kick off May 12 from 6-9 p.m. Local restaurants will be offering up samples of their favorite beers and wines. Special beer glasses, wrist bands, and sample tickets will be sold at the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce.
Other featured Taste of Bar Harbor events include special limited-edition Mother’s Day brunch and breakfast menus at many restaurants, dessert night May 17, and the popular Chef’s Table dinner.
Four exclusive restaurants will be hosting seven-course dinner and pairings along with Chef-led tours, demonstrations, and sneak peeks at their favorite recipes. Chef’s Table participants will learn which restaurant they’ll be experiencing at a pre-dinner reception at Fiore Artisan Olive Oils and Vinegars. The festival wraps up on Saturday morning with the Taste of Bar Harbor and Merchant's Association Sidewalk Stroll and Craft Fair in downtown Bar Harbor from 11a.m. to 3p.m.
