What You Know about "The Hi-Pro Glow"

You listen to "The Hi-Pro Glow" and you ask yourself two things, one, "Did he just say that?"…and two, "Who does this kid sound like?"

March 9, 2012 - PRLog -- The answer to question one is, yeah, he sure did. And if you listen to it again you'll probably hear something you didn't hear the first time. The answer to question two is…Nobody. "The Hi-Pro Glow" Mixtape by LimeLyte 03-20-2012.

I know, another mix tape, right? Wrong. Download the mix tape FREE at www.LimeLyteMusic.com and what you'll get is not simply an album but a clue. A glimpse, if you will, into what the evolution of Hip-Hop might actually sound like. A complex hybrid whose market is expanding every day due to people's need for a new green energy. Enter Lime-Lyte.

You can break down a Hip-Hop song into four categories; The beat, The hook, The Lyrics, and The Delivery. For LimeLyte, Fourth Quarter producers, J-Mac and Jay Beatz take care of the foundation of the song which is the beat. If you look at the song like it's a house, you have to have a solid foundation or it crumbles. That's taken care of by the producer, so let's set that aside.

The hook, is exactly what the name implies, the hook. It's simple and catchy and the piece most music listeners usually memorize and are drawn in by. Limelyte show's a unique ability to create hooks that sound nothing like the mainstream, yet keep the catchiness and the message fully in tact. The hook is like the look of the house, it's what makes you want to open the door and check out the inside. But as many know, hooks are an art in themselves, and often others write and perform hooks for the artist; so let's set that aside.

The Lyrics and Delivery, however, that's what makes an artist distinctive. This is where Limelyte truly shines. Rappers are rarely referred to as songwriters, but that is exactly what Limelyte is; a commander of the language and a soldier for the metaphor. The complaints about how Hip-Hop has changed have little to do with what is said, and mostly to do with how it's said. That's the same with every genre. Take rock.  A rock song will essentially always be about partying, fun, dancing, men, women, and relationships. It is the uniqueness and originality of what is said that brings a song to life and touches people. Limelyte's success as an artist comes from his ability to pull metaphors from every detail and aspect of life. Limelyte is like Jason Bourne, he notices every detail he hears, reads, and sees because he never knows when he has to use it. Limelyte is the interior design of the house. You walk in and say things like, "Ooh, that's nice," and "Wow, never seen that before." Maybe it's because his life has been split between two cities, the Bronx and Orlando. Maybe it's the fact he's half black, half hispanic. Maybe it's the fact he's the nephew of Luv Bug Starski and it runs in his blood. It's probably all of the above. You'll find his delivery is probably a combination of many factors as well which makes him a shape shifter of sorts when adapting to different style beats. Don't take my word for it, check out the trailer below and download the free mix tape.
