PRLog - March 9, 2012 - WARREN, Mich. -- April 27th 2012 will mark the 140th anniversary of Arbor Day. Arbor Day was started by Mr. Sterling Morton a native Detroiter. This year, websites, organizations, celebrities, and citizens are joining together from all over the United States to put two events together in Detroit and Los Angeles. As a green community, there will be over 100 trees planted. Created by Green Careers Guide, Eco20/20, and Great Green Idea hope that the Arbor Day Revitalization Project will encourage every person to take 20 minutes this Arbor Day to plant a tree.

The Arbor Day Revitalization Project is endorsed and supported by Ed Begley Jr., TVI Supply, Technology Ventures, The Green Lifestyle Film Festival, ARISE Detroit!, Tree People, Serenity Spaces, Maxi Container, Kosher Michigan, The Jewish Hour, Roi Chinn, EMovies, POWERleap, Greening Detroit, Better World Club Inc., Zwick & Banyai P.L.L.C, Future Oxygen, Better World Forum, Go Green America TV, and Planet Swampy. Each group has committed to the idea of planting trees in the City of Detroit and to the educational goal of Arbor Day. The Detroit planting will take place on April 29th at Dorais Park at 11am.
The Arbor Day Revitalization Project site will allow users to post their own Arbor Day events and tree plantings. Users can post pictures and encourage others to plant. They can also help spread the message on Facebook by visiting http://www.facebook.com/
