When women ask me, "How will I know he's the one?!" I tell them he will say something along the lines of, "I have a fantastic sense of humour mostly at other people's expense, and I'm moody as hell but I never lie. I think you are beautiful but your laugh is forced and phony." And you know he's being truthful because you have been politely faking laughter at his rather unkind, sarcastic jokes. He's a keeper. You might not be impressed with his lack of polish or diplomacy but you'll always know this fella is going to tell you what is in his heart and mind. This is the man you can be truly intimate with and you're not going to have many unpleasant surprises down the road. He'll even tell you when he's going to cheat because he's just that kind of guy. In his world lying is humiliating evidence of his cowardice. Besides he has a low threshold for secrecy, complexity and guilt. But let me say that the men who come to see me are in a special category of their own. Actually asking a man, "Would you ever consult a feminist psychic?", could be a very handy measurement and criteria tool for you. The ultimate litmus test. The men I meet are more than willing than most to admit they have faults, that their relationships are confusing and they're lost. The kind of rare man willing to ask for directions even from a feminist psychic. And in case you're curious, these men are not sad, pathetic losers (because women often themselves judge men harshly who have to ask for directions). They are successful, well-educated, confident cool dudes. Lawyers, doctors, engineers, writers, geologists, entrepreneurs and yes politicians. Nice politicians. So yes there are heroes are out there in the singles world. Somewhat battle worn and confused, you might find yourself staring at them with your mouth open in offended shock. He tells you like it is and can take it bravely on the chin himself. After all a man who can dish out blunt honesty should be able to take it in the same spirit it was given.
