March 8, 2012 - PRLog -- Glassblowing is popping up in Detroit this spring.

Michigan glass artist April Wagner, owner of Epiphany Glass studio in Pontiac, http://epiphanyglass.com, will open a temporary store in Detroit’s Compuware building from Wed., April 11 through Fri., June 1, 2012 where she will debut her new StudioE line, featuring functional and affordable pieces of hand-blown glass. The store is expected to open three days per week - Wed., Thurs. & Fri., from 11am to 4pm for the two-month duration of the pop-up store.

The Epiphany Glass store will offer pieces from the new StudioE line, including hand blown glass ornaments, colorful paperweights, contemporary decanters and more priced from $50 to $300.  The traditional Epiphany Studio line of unique, collectible art pieces in bold colors and forms will also be on display and available for purchase.
.
Epiphany’s pieces are marked by “tight form and line tension, interior and exterior curves pulling against each other for visual dominance, and vibrant colors that play off each other yet remain complimentary. Whether vase, platter, or free form, each piece is created with a single-minded tenacity that will allow no wobble or break in line quality,” according to Wagner.

Epiphany Glass, http://www.epiphanyglass.com, located at 770 Orchard Lake Road in Pontiac, Mich. is a state-of-the-art, 4,000 sq. ft. glassblowing studio and gallery.  Since 1997, Epiphany’s distinctive look has been created by artist and owner April Wagner.  Wagner adds a contemporary twist to the traditional fazzoletto technique, which originated in the Venini factory of Murano, Italy, during the 1930s and was later popularized by Seattle glass artists. Her work is found in many public and private collections, including those of GM, Pfizer, Strategic Staffing Solutions, Vladimir Putin, Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson.
