PRLog - Mar. 8, 2012 - OAKLAND PARK, Fla. -- Opportunities Industrialization Center (OIC) of Broward County, a  Community Based workforce development, training and job placement Organization  congratulates Sarah Ridley-Gal, Green Projects Manager on her selection by the White House to be included with 20 other top women environmental leaders to meet for a roundtable discussion with Nancy Sutley, Principal Environmental Policy Advisor for President Obama on behalf of the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). “I was so honored and humbled to be nominated by a former colleague who organized the event [and] was familiar with my various roles in the environmental field over the past 10 years”, stated Sarah.
According to Ms. Ridley-Gal, “The discussion topic was generally about the role of women leaders in the environmental fields and how to engage the next generation of women environmental leaders. After a review of President Obama's environmental policy agenda, most of the discussion centered around science based environmental/energy policies, including topics such as Everglades restoration, climate change mitigation, developing a comprehensive energy policy in Florida, environmental justice, urban development boundaries, and protecting FL's ocean ecosystems (and our fishing tourism industry) in our reefs and estuaries. Participants ranged from Mayors, Commissioners, lawyers, educators, activists, scientists, and everything in between.”
