This year, the workshop brought Australasia-
Schools and institutions based in New Zealand’s South Island appreciated the opportunity to showcase their region as a study destination with many agents attending campus tours. Joan Potts from Wakatipu High School in Queenstown said “Thank you for giving us the chance to host an ICEF event in Queenstown! It has been absolutely amazing for us! We really valued the variety of agents at the event and to have everyone here has been a real treat!”
Agents at the event enjoyed an all-around experience, meeting a range of quality providers as well as enjoying Queenstown’s breath taking scenery. “This was my first time in Queenstown and also New Zealand and I think this is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. The ANZA Workshop was great! I was able to maximise each of my meetings and the contact I had with educators. I am sure I will send more Vietnamese students to New Zealand” said Vietnamese agent Phan Minh Phong from AU UC My International Education Investment Joint Stock Company.
In its third year, the ANZA Work and Travel Zone gave sellers of work and travel programmes, including gap years, internships, volunteer experiences, Au Pair placements and tourism activities, the opportunity to offer participants exciting work, travel and tourism products for their students. First time participant, Kelly Dugan from YHA New Zealand and Australia commented that “It was a great event - we will attend again!”
Social occasions and informal networking are always an integral part of ICEF events. Queenstown provided the ideal location for a wide range of social activities with agents and educators luging, jet boating and of course bungy jumping, some participants leaping 134m from the Nevis Bungy. Laila Wright, a Brazilian agent based in Australia said: “At jump time all my nerves kicked in. I started shaking and I didn’t know if I could do it, but with a lot encouragement I jumped. This was such an awesome experience and I can recommend it to anyone!”
In April 2013, the ANZA Workshop returns to Australia. Location details will be available shortly on www.icef.com.
