March 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Women Moving Through Cancer, a program for women beyond or near the end of their treatment, will be held at the Cancer Support Community Massachusetts South Shore (CSC-MSS), 120 Longwater Drive, Suite 104 beginning on Saturday, March 24, 2012. Space is limited and pre-registration and screening is required; screenings start March 5. Please call 781-610-1490 to pre-register.

The eight –week program is structured into two hour long sessions each, allowing a small group of approximately ten women to experience a healing journey as they learn more about their body and emotional well-being. The goal of the program is for the participants to gain knowledge on healing, staying healthy, lessening worry, and finding greater joy in life. The program meets for 8 consecutive Saturdays from 10 am to 12 noon.

This year, the program is made possible by a generous donation from the Chrystine M. Sullivan Foundation.  It will once again be facilitated by Kathleen Armany, R.N., who is a Certified Cancer Guide by The Center for Mind Body Medicine and has extensive experience leading support groups for people diagnosed with cancer. Armany led the program when it was last offered in 2007, which resulted in many participants’ continued involvement in CSC.
“This program offers women a healing journey and the support of others experiencing many of the same feelings and emotions,” said Francine Coluci, Executive Director of The Cancer Support Community of MA South Shore.   “We encourage women living with cancer and their families across the region to take advantage of this wonderful program and the other resources we offer at no charge.”
