PlayCore to announce first annual Hero award recipient in Long Beach

March 7, 2012 - PRLog -- Long Beach CA - On March 21st, PlayCore will announce the first annual PlayCore Hero Award recipient. The Hero award was designed to honor a person in the park and recreation field who has given selflessly and dedicated their life to furthering recreation opportunities for the citizens of their community.

“We meet so many people in the parks and recreation field, and they all have a common goal, to create and advance opportunities for recreation that promote the health of their citizens and the social capital of their community,” said Bob Farnsworth, PlayCore CEO. “We wanted to establish a way to honor these professionals for their tireless effort, and the dedication they demonstrate in helping others.”

The Hero award will be presented in PlayCore’s booth #411 at the California and Pacific Southwest annual conference at the Long Beach Convention Center. “Since this year’s award recipient serves a California community, this event seemed to be the perfect venue to announce the winner, as he/she will be surrounded by their peers,” stated Farnsworth.

PlayCore will present the recipient with an award, and make a donation in their name to the charity of his/her choice.
