An Evening with Wendy Webb and Friends at Sanibel's BIG ARTS Strauss Theater April 2

March 7, 2012 - PRLog -- BIG ARTS presents a concert with acclaimed singer-songwriter and keyboardist Wendy Webb, Monday, April 2, at 8 p.m. Webb will perform at BIG ARTS Strauss Theater, located at 2200 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Webb will sing and play piano, accompanied by Danny Morgan on guitar and John G. McLane on saxophone.

Wendy Webb weaves poetic lyrics and elements of folk, jazz and blues into a style all her own. Webb’s recent CD, "Morning in New York," features world-renowned musicians Jim Horn, David Grissom, Glenn Worf, Dan Dugmore, David Pomeroy, Jonathan Yudkin, and Sam Bacco. This concert will feature favorite songs from "Morning in New York," and her 2010 release, Moon Over Havana, as well as songs from her upcoming album, "Edge of Darkness."

“Wendy Webb’s music is moody, full of wee hours wisdom, it is yearning and soul stirring, soaring toward heights flown by the likes of Joni Mitchell and Emmy Lou Harris,” writes Steven Dougherty, Senior Writer for People Magazine. He said, “Webb is a newcomer whose music is mined in the timeless chambers of the human heart.” She has received honors in both the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and in the Lilith Fair Songwriting Competition.
