Obama for America African American Director Stefanie Brown to Receive Excellence in Leadership Award

The Phi Sigma Pi, Alpha Tau Chapter Endowment Fund, Inc. will honor Stefanie Brown, National African American Vote Director for the Obama Campaign, at its 5th Annual Awards Ceremony to be held on April 6, 2012 on the campus of Howard University.
 
March 7, 2012 - PRLog -- The Phi Sigma Pi, Alpha Tau Chapter Endowment Fund, Inc. ("the Fund") is pleased to announce Stefanie Brown as the recipient of its prestigious Excellence in Leadership Award.  Brown will receive the award and deliver a keynote address at the scholarship awards ceremony held in the Howard University School of Business auditorium on April 6, 2012 at 6pm.  A reception will follow immediately thereafter in the business school lounge.

Stefanie Brown currently serves as the National African American Vote Director for the Obama for America campaign.  In this capacity, she is charged with organizing the nationwide African American vote efforts for the re-election of President Barack Obama.  Prior to her appointment by President Obama, Stefanie served as National Field Director and National Director of the Youth & College Division of the NAACP.  Through Stefanie's amazing leadership at the NAACP, she represented the interests of 23,000 youth under the age of 25 around the country.  

A graduate of Howard, Stefanie has received many accolades for her leadership and service.  She was elected as Howard's youngest student government female president, recognized as one of Essence.com's "Top 10 Emerging Political Leaders of 2010" and named one of Ebony Magazine's "2007 Top 30 Young Leaders under 30."  Stefanie is the founder of the Brown Girls Lead Academy and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Brown joins a league of distinguished honorees who have received this award in years past, including: Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton and  former Baltimore mayor, Kurt Schmoke, to name a few.  Brown's keynote address will be targeted to the Fund's scholarship recipients who will receive awards that night as well.

The Phi Sigma Pi, Alpha Tau Chapter Endowment Fund, Inc. was established to provide scholarships for local high school students in the Washington, DC Metro-Area. The scholarship may be applied to their college education upon enrollment.
