Follow on Google News | Greg Pitts-"The World's Most Diverse Self-Taught Artist" Back in The Wynwood For A Brief StintSouth Florida Artist Greg Pitts - often referred to as "The Black Jackson Pollock" has returned to exhibit in the Wynwood for a short time.
By: D. Marian He had painted a series of large format abstract paintings created on frames that he built and wrapped. One of the 3 remaining of these masterpieces is available at the gallery. When questioned as to why he has returned to exhibit in Florida, Greg Pitts said "It was time. I had a great several months in my gallery up north, but what better place to be during the cold than in Florida? I wanted to keep the momentum going and bring it back to the energy of the Wynwood." His work will be on exhibit at the Hangar Gallery, located at 2235 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127- directly across from the food truck lot. During his time at The Hangar, Mr. Pitts plans to exhibit a variety of artwork ranging from his early works that garnered him the moniker "The Black Jackson Pollock", several unique "eco-art" pieces created from recycled and found objects. He is currently working on an installation piece that he hopes will be completed in enough time for him to bring to The Hangar Gallery and share with the world. Join Greg at The Hangar Gallery during the Wynwood Art Walk will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 7pm - 11pm. End
