Checkpoint Control : New tool against quarantine insect pests

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar. 6, 2012 - Practical solution for the isolation of infested stock using specially coated adhesive tape has been launched by Russell IPM Ltd. A company from Wales specialising in the pheromone based solution for stored products insects.

Checkpoint Control is simple devise based on special adhesive tape to isolate products infested with insects from spreading the infestation to the rest of warehouse. It is temporary measure until a long term solution is found to deal with the problem.

The key feature of Checkpoint control is the option to have the adhesive layer to be applied from both top and bottom of the tape to prevent the spread of the infestation from any way possible.

Checkpoint control can be effective in isolating the following insects.
Biscuit beetle - Stegobium paniceum
Tobacco beetle - Lasioderma serricorne
Flour beetle - Tribolium confusum, Tribolium castaneum
Merchant beetle - Oryzaephilus mercator
Saw toothed grain beetle - Orzyaephilus surinamensis
