March 6, 2012 - PRLog -- On March 19th, the 2nd German American Bioenergy Conference will take place in Atlanta, Georgia from 8:30am until 4pm. Held at the W Atlanta Downtown, admission to this conference is complimentary.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Scott Minos, Senior Policy and Communication Specialist for the US Department of Energy.

The goal of the 2nd German American Bioenergy Conference is to identify present and future opportunities and challenges of the bioenergy market in the US and to promote a transatlantic exchange of knowledge, technology and experiences. Our speakers will include decision makers representing German and American companies as well as representatives from leading research institutions, government agencies and industry associations. Several German bioenergy companies will be in attendance to establish business contacts in the US. They will be traveling to Georgia and Maine to share their experiences of the European bioenergy market.

Biomass is the most important renewable energy source in the United States. Its installed capacity of over 14,000 MW makes the US the largest producer of electricity from biomass worldwide. Eight percent of US electricity production is currently generated from renewable energy, 53 percent of that coming from biomass.

German companies are setting benchmarks in the bioenergy market, by working closely with industry partners to develop technologies and bringing them to market quickly. Research focuses on cutting edge gasification technologies, highly efficient CHP applications and pellet plant equipment as well as energy crop sciences.

To that effect, German bioenergy companies provide advanced technologies and decades of experience in the areas of solid biomass, biogas and biofuels while supporting the German government in its ambitious 20-20-20 goal: a 20 percent increase in both energy efficiency and renewable energies by 2020.

If you would like to reserve your complimentary ticket to the 2nd German American Bioenergy Conference, please RSVP to Carsten Jacobi at cjacobi@gaccsouth.com. Space is limited. Please reserve your place as soon as possible.
