Capita’s 9th Disabled Children Conference focuses on the Government's forthcoming consultation response to the Support and Aspiration: A new approach to special educational needs and disability Green Paper.

Underpinning the Green Paper is the development of a single assessment and ‘Education, Health and Social Care Plan’ for disabled children and young people from 0-25 years, which is being tested in 20 Pathfinder areas.

Bringing together leading policy experts, pathfinder areas and practitioners, this event provides an unmissable opportunity to discover the latest policy direction and explore the key challenges of implementing the wider themes of the Green Paper. This includes establishing and coordinating a single assessment and care plan, focusing on outcomes and increased choice and developing a comprehensive Local Offer of service provision.

The SEND Green Paper offers parents a new ‘Health, Social Care and Education Plan’ and the right to a personal budget by 2014 and to control and fund the services they need for their child.

Drawing on the experiences of pilot areas and leading experts, this half-day briefing focuses on enabling greater choice through a personal budget. Learn about and successful approaches to managing new financial arrangements in terms of commissioning services, market development and funding options.
