“I was very close to my Granny and she was a strong influence on all of her twenty-four Grandchildren,”
On their 21st birthdays, Granny invited each of her Grandchildren to join Granny’s Birthday Club by sending them a gift with strings attached: they were given a sum of money that they had to donate to charity. After they had made their donations they then received a matching amount of money to keep for themselves. “This gave me my first real opportunity to feel great giving,” said Hallward.
GIV3 has created a video that tells the story of Granny’s Birthday Club. To celebrate Granny’s inspiration, GIV3 is inviting all Canadians to start a Birthday Club of their own. Between now and April 15th GIV3 will pledge one dollar to charity for every share the video receives (up to a maximum of $1,000).
