March 5, 2012 - PRLog -- The Academy for Continued Healthcare Learning, LLC (ACHL), a full-service, accredited continuing medical education provider, was recognized at the Alliance’s 37th Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida with a 2012 NAMEC Best Practice Award in the category of Best Practice in Professional Development for their program on “CME Efficiencies Team Meetings/Training.” The NAMEC Best Practice Awards recognizes excellence in process improvements or new ideas that can be implemented by NAMEC members, as well as the CME community at large.

“NAMEC’s mission is to represent, advocate, demonstrate and support the value of certified education to its members – (MECs). We are proud of the many contributions our members make to the field of certified education and created the Best Practice Awards to recognize outstanding accomplishments of our members each year. This year was NAMEC’s 7th Annual Best Practice Awards Ceremony. We had a record number of submissions, thus making it very difficult to pick a winner. We congratulate all those who submitted as well as the selected few who won an award, as it only interweaves a stronger association for current and future members”

“Early in 2011, we identified inconsistencies in the way CME activities were being planned and implemented. Team members were utilizing different templates, following different internal procedures, and had varying levels of familiarity with compliance and regulatory guidelines,” said Mindi Daiga, Director of Compliance and Outcomes Management at ACHL.  “This provided the opportunity to create the CME Efficiencies Group. Our weekly meetings allowed us to clarify policies, streamline procedures and share best practices among our team.”

Mindi Daiga and Helen Tselentis, Scientific Director, accepted the award at the annual meeting. “The recognition this offers will further ACHL’s standing in the CME community and showcase our commitment to educational excellence on all levels,” said Lisa Keckich, Executive Director of ACHL. “This award would not have been possible without the exceptional efforts of the team in identifying best practices and operational efficiencies to improve ACHL’s educational delivery. They have worked very hard this year to introduce these changes and I am excited by the direction we are taking and the peer recognition we’ve received.”
