March 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Hatboro-Horsham, PA-- On Red and Black Day, the Future Business Leaders of America at Hatboro High will show the Hatboro Horsham community how GREEN they truly are. The FBLA is hosting a school-wide, student run collection drive for Impact Thrift Stores to support families in children in crisis.

The donated items that the students collect, such as: gently-used clothing, books, furniture and household items, will be sold at Impact Thrift Stores and the money generated will financially support local charities, whose missions support families and children in crisis. By donating items to Impact Thrift, not only do donors avoid waste, but through their contributions, they help to restore dignity to another person’s life.  It’s recycling in one of its most beneficial forms.

Over the course of the past month the leaders have been participating in a student leadership program created by Impact Thrift Stores, called "Impact LIVE". Impact LIVE has provided the FBLA the tools and occasion to organize and implement an important community service experience at their school. The Impact LIVE program is intended to not only add value to the student’s curriculum and educational experience, but it also is designed to practically serve as a way for Impact Thrift to obtain quality donations to further its own service to the community.

Impact Thrift Stores is a registered 501(c) (3) non-profit organization based in Hatboro, PA. Founded in 2001, Impact Thrift exists to raise funds for local charities through thrift store operations. Impact Thrift’s financial support of these local non-profits enables their staff to spend more time doing what they do best…feeding the hungry, housing the homeless, and supporting children and families in need.

The Impact Thrift Stores truck will be parked in  front of  Hatboro-Horsham High, so if you're in the area on Friday March 9th between 1-3:30 pm,  drop off your gently-used items and help the FBLA help others in need.
