March 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Join author NIK BEAT for a talk and the signing of his poetry book TYRANNY OF LOVE, a collection of poems where rhythm and litany, waves and drops, raw images and postmodern constructs stack one over another to conform the spinal cord of a strolling heart.

"[A] deliciously paradoxical world, where angels and God are rooted in an urban setting, by turns dark and ethereal, sensuous and frivolous. In lyrical language infused with fantastical wordplay, his poems ask the perennial questions of love and belief. ... Nik may well be a new type of writer altogether: the postmodern metaphysical poet."
—MYNA WALLIN, co-publisher

"Nik Beat is an artist. His poetry is blood, sinew, muscle and nerve, extracted from his inner being with the deft craft of a surgeon's blade."
—NORMAN CRISTOFOLI, publisher

"Nik Beat writes out of the pop world of today, translating icons, images and ideas into a poetry of clever wit and unpretentious wisdom. But it is the modern-day romantic in his writing—an ability to capture both the tenderness and brutality of his life which creates the arresting tension in his work. It is this conflict which marks him as an original. He captivates us with his vulnerability, watching him walk the tightrope between head and heart in all its comedy and tragedy."
—MARY ELIZABETH GRACE, Bootlegging Apples on the Road to Redemption

Torontonian author, musician, DJ and radio host NIK BEAT has toiled in the rock and roll field for the past decades and his poems and writings has been published in numerous anthologies.
