March 5, 2012 - PRLog -- (March 5, 2012) – The Americas Meetings & Events Exhibition (AIBTM) announced today that the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) will present an educational track at AIBTM 2012, Reed Travel Exhibitions’ premiere provider for the U.S. meetings and events industry.   The three-day networking event, held June 19 – 21 in Baltimore will feature a full day of education, followed by two days of exhibitions.

The ICCA Global Meetings track will feature two 90-minute roundtable sessions on June 19 during AIBTM’s Education Day.  The first session will take place in the morning, after the keynote speaker, and the second will take place in the afternoon.  The roundtable discussions will be followed by a one-hour clinic, where ICCA members will be available to give personalized advice to planners.

This year’s ICCA roundtable sessions and clinic topics are:

•   How global destinations can penetrate the U.S. market
•   Global meetings:  practical advice for North American planners
•   Going global one-on-one clinic

“We are pleased to announce our partnership with ICCA for the ICCA Global meetings track at AIBTM 2012,” said AIBTM Project Director, Steve Knight.  “The first roundtable session will be aimed primarily at suppliers, with the second session aimed at planners, as well as suppliers who are interested in meeting internationally focused planners.”

“We are thrilled to offer an educational track at AIBTM 2012,” added ICCA CEO, Martin Sirk.  “We look forward to lively discussions about the industry at both our roundtable sessions and our one-on-one clinic.  With approximately eight moderators per session, we expect our roundtables to be very beneficial to advancing the conversation about our industry on a global scale.”

ICCA joins other AIBTM Association partners for AIBTM Education Day, which is comprised of a series of conferences, forums and workshops.  Other partners include the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA), the Association of Corporate Travel Executives (ACTE) and the Society of Incentive Travel Executives (SITE).

Multiple concurrent events ensure there are tracks for all types and levels of planners, as well as buyers and industry leaders participating in CEO panels and keynote speaker sessions.  PCMA will deliver Education Powered by PCMA, Executive Edge and a State of the Industry Panel.  ACTE will present an education track dedicated to corporate travel professionals on how to make the most of face time and developing technology to best enhance the corporate travel experience.  Additionally, SITE will deliver invigorating education tailored to the incentive market and host the SITE Young Leaders program focusing on the next generation of motivational leaders.  AIBTM is also pleased to offer the CEO Summit during the conference.
