March 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Photographer and collage artist Adrienne Moumin will be showing works from her “Architextures” series of hand-cut-and-assembled gelatin silver photo collages in Booth M209 at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show, from Thursday, March 22 through Sunday, March 25, 2012.

The show is located at Pier 94, 55th Street at 12th Avenue, New York, NY.  The show hours are Thursday: 10AM – 7PM (Open to Trade and Preview Guests); Friday & Saturday: 10AM – 7PM (Open to the Public); and Sunday 10AM – 6PM (Open to the Public).  Shuttles will be running each afternoon between Pier 94 and locations in Midtown Manhattan.

The 11th annual Architectural Digest Home Design Show is a four-day event that features the best in home design from more than 400 premium brands.  Moumin will be a first-time exhibitor in the MADE section, which features limited-edition and one-of-a-kind fine art objects, furniture, and lighting.

General admission is $25 online at ADHomeDesignShow.com or $30 at the door. Online advance purchase includes a one-year subscription to Architectural Digest. Ticket price also includes complimentary admission to DIFFA’s DINING BY DESIGN table viewing (co-located at Pier 94).

Moumin has recently returned to New York, her lifelong home, after a decade in the Washington, DC area.  New York and its built environment is the inspiration for Architextures, her ongoing series of abstract monochrome photo collages.

Moumin’s hand-cut-and-assembled gelatin silver photo collages reflect her fascination with architectural landmarks and landscapes.  While at first the works may appear to be digital montages, closer inspection reveals the texture and layering inherent in the handmade pieces.  Moumin hand-prints multiples of each photograph in a traditional wet darkroom, then cuts and rearranges pieces of the paper prints.

She has been working in this vein since 2003, and has expanded her repertoire to include application of glass and crystal elements, complicated layering, using the paper’s natural curves for 3-D effects, and use of inkjet prints.
