By: Andre D Etherly • Prescribers get instant access to the pharmacy’s entire formulary – avoiding the cumbersome task of creating and managing compound formulary entries in traditional EMR/EHR’s. This increases accuracy and saves time for prescribers • Patients get an easy to read view of their medications and instructions and one click access to pharmacy refills and prescriber refill authorization requests • Pharmacies using the Compounder Rx by PCCA get the benefit of prescriptions that automatically populate into the pharmacy’s compound management system for greater efficiency and accuracy Talking about the new eRx Connect platform, Andre Etherly CEO and Chief Technology Officer says, “We have been studying the challenges of prescribing compound medications from all angles for nearly two years. This module is designed to optimize the entire business process for prescribers, pharmacies and patients and we are very excited to see this part of our vision come to fruition.” Etherly also says that he is pleased with the initial responses from prescribers and pharmacies as the interest from pharmacies and prescribers has been building over the last few weeks by “word of mouth” as we began talking about the new module as it went into final development and testing in January of this year. “Since the founding of the company, integrating and enabling practitioners, pharmacies and patients has been part of the vision and “fabric” of eMedicalFusion, but nothing to date has had the impact that this module will ultimately have given the important role of compounded medications for our target market”, says Diana Baumohl, Vice President. We have made a significant investment into the module and we are confident that is the right investment at the right time for this market. eRx Connect is different from the major pharmacy networks in that eRx Connect provides a direct connection with compounding pharmacies. This connection allows prescribers to create prescriptions by directly using the compounding pharmacy’s formulary which avoids the tedious task of creating and managing formulary entries in traditional e-prescribing tools. This capability saves time and ensures precise communication with pharmacies. For pharmacies that do not use the Compounder Rx by PCCA, eRx Connect can still deliver prescriptions to them by secure fax. And while the system is optimized for compound medications, the system contains a standard drug database and a listing of over 75,000 pharmacies nationwide for prescribing standard medications from regular retail pharmacies. Today’s initial release of eRx Connect extends the eMedicalFusion promise of “just add the doctor”, says Etherly. eMedicalFusion’ # # # eMedicalFusion, LLC, is a Missouri Limited Liability Company that provides cloud-based, practical, easy to implement Practice Management solutions targeted at cash, hybrid, concierge and integrative medical practices. eMedicalFusion solutions are based on the fusion of technology and innovative business processes enabled by deep domain knowledge.
