March 5, 2012 - PRLog -- Leyton’s engineers & Head of Tax will impart their extensive, technical knowledge and provide expert but practical tips on how companies can ensure they are claiming their full and proper entitlement under the R&D Tax Credit scheme. The changes to the R&D Tax Credit scheme proposed in the recent Finance Bill will also be covered in detail.

This event will focus on the R&D Tax Credit scheme, offering practical advice that will assist companies in preparing and supporting claims under what is potentially a very valuable scheme. In addition, with many of the proposed Finance Bill changes due to apply from 2012 onwards, now is the time for companies to familiarise themselves with the proposed changes so that they can be factored into their R&D investment decisions.

With robust and fully supported claims, the credit can help companies make the levels of investment in R&D necessary to create long term, sustainable growth.  Eoin Brennan, Head of Tax at Leyton says “Companies that allocate resources, both financial and human to R&D activities, have in most cases fared much better during this economic downturn than those who have not. Unfortunately, funding and cash flow pressures can prevent companies from investing in projects that may not see a return for the medium to long term. All companies need to ensure that they have full information on the R&D incentives available to them so that this can be factored into their investment appraisal process”.

Leyton have assisted companies of all sizes and across all industry sectors in claiming their full entitlement under the R&D Tax Credit scheme and supporting those claims. This has given the company an insight into the exciting and high quality R&D activities being undertaken in Ireland.

“However,” Brennan continues, “what is equally clear is that some companies are still not claiming their full entitlement; while other companies may be leaving themselves open to adjustments by including activities and expenditure that do not qualify. With Revenue audits into R&D Tax Credit claims on the increase and the significant changes to the scheme proposed in the recent Finance Bill, this seminar comes at an opportune time to discuss these and other relevant issues”.

This event is free to attend, but registration is required. Visit www.leyton.com/ie for more information.
