March 4, 2012 - PRLog -- FantasyDraftStrategy.com was started to keep track of my own fantasy draft strategies.  Seeing as draft season only occurs a handful of times throughout the year, I wanted to organize the methods that work for me in one location.  I also love to blog as I own a network of over ten blogs right now and thought that I would publicize this information so that others could learn from what I've done and implement that strategies that I've found useful.  I don't pretend to be the be all, end all of fantasy guru's, but I believe the strategies I use can benefit basically every other fantasy player like myself.

To give you some background about myself, I've been playing fantasy sports since the 2001 fantasy baseball season.  That first fantasy season was definitely a crash course.  I became obsessed with fantasy games and drafted 11 fantasy baseball teams that season.  While I love the entire fantasy season, I've always thought the drafts were the most fun.

In my opinion, fantasy drafts are also the most pivotal point in your season.  Most managers just want to draft a team full of players that everyone knows and are think that last year's stats apply to this season.  That just isn't the case although I definitely don't discount statistical histories of players.  However, I prefer more of a Moneyball approach to fantasy drafts and look for players who are undervalued or trending up.

For instance, in 2011's fantasy baseball drafts, I highly-valued Jered Weaver.  He was a young player with no significant injuries in his history, consistent annual innings pitched, and steadily improving stats.  I moved him up on all of my draft charts and took him in every one of my leagues except for one in which I blabbed my mouth to one of my buddies in the league.  He drafted him the same round I was planning on taking him.

This is just one of the fantasy draft strategies that I implement and feel that every fantasy manager should follow.  I've already posted quite a few articles on my blog that highlight different mistakes I've made, lessons I've learned, and proven strategies that have taken me to dozens of fantasy championships over the last decade plus.

I hope to hear feedback from you whether you have comments or criticisms, questions on strategies, ideas for new topics, or anything else.  I'd like this to become a personal blog where you can interact with myself and other readers.  We're all playing in different leagues so we can all benefit from the bits of information that are found here.  Thanks for reading and good luck in your fantasy drafts!
