For TurnKey, this is their first inmate phone account. TurnKey has been a provider of inmate technology and commissary services since 1996. Based in Hudson, Wisconsin, TurnKey has seen rapid growth since 2010. TurnKey attributes its' growth to its' strong base or core facilities in MN, WI and ND who helped perfect its' technology, great employees and a commitment to excellence. TurnKey provides an avenue where inmates can order commissary items, view their account history & balance, make requests and many more services on proprietary inmate kiosks. TurnKey brought these kiosks to the corrections market starting in 2002. Inmates family and friends can also go to a lobby kiosk and make deposits at correctional facilities; cash deposits in most cases do not carry any additional fees which provides the inmate access to more funds. Additionally, friends and family can go on-line to TurnKey's website, www.inmatecanteen.com, and deposit funds, video visit, buy canteen items and much much more.
TurnKey in the last year has brought out many new innovations including video visitation using the same inmate kiosks and now, inmate phone services. TurnKey is providing inmates the ability to receive inbound calls along with using funds from their trust account to pay for calls. This will dramatically improve accessability to inmates for outside visitors, especially inmates with limited funds.
TurnKey cites the progressive mindsets in the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office and Jail Administration as a key in growing in to the inmate phone service. "They challenged us to find better means to help the jail staff manage the inmate's loss of freedoms" said Patrick McMullan, TurnKey General Sales Manager. "They wanted to be partners in helping inmates foster good relationships with family and friends while incarcerated to hopefully provide as many tools as possible to reduce the likeliness that they may violate the law again" McMullan added.
The Lincoln County Jail is located in Newport, Oregon, a town of nearly 18,000 located along the Pacific Ocean. With it's mountain terrain and varying weather patterns, the Administration sought out means to better improve inmate accessibility and found its' partner in TurnKey. With rising fuel prices combined with the lower rates TurnKey offered for their services, this made for a perfect match.
TurnKey expects to add several more commissary, visitation and phone accounts in the foreseeable future. Now in 14 states and over 70 facilities, TurnKey is looking to grow in strategic areas over the next few years while maintaining the highest customer service standards in the business for its' existing clients. "We have a great group of facilities that we strive to be the best partner in the business today and with that commitment, we are confident we will continue to find more facilities who have similar goals as our current clients" McMullan added. "We expect nothing but the best for our sites." For more information on TurnKey Corrections, go to www.turnkeycorrections.com or call 612/267-8277.
