Santa Barbara ABHOW Senior Living Community Receives Excellent National Rating

March 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Santa Barbara, Calif.:  Valle Verde, a senior living community in Santa Barbara, earned a five-star national rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Valle Verde is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) owned and managed by ABHOW, a non-profit corporation that has been providing senior housing and health care for more than 60 years.

The five-star rating is the highest rating given by CMS. The rating indicates that Valle Verde is performing at a level well above average for the state of California. The rating is based on scores in health inspections, employee time spent with residents and clinical quality measures. The federal government mandates the annual health inspections for all communities that provide skilled nursing care.

Valle Verde is also accredited by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission; accreditation is awarded to CCRCs demonstrating excellence in governance and administration, financial resources and disclosure, and resident life, health and wellness.

In building on their tradition of quality, Valle Verde is adding 40 new residential living apartments to the campus and renovating several of their community amenities. They will break ground on this transformation in summer 2012.
