The law firm of Sussan & Greenwald will present a free seminar for families of students with special needs entitled “What Does the School District Owe My Child?” at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Sheraton Hotel in Eatontown, NJ.
 
March 2, 2012 - PRLog -- The law firm of Sussan & Greenwald will present a free seminar for families of students with special needs. The seminar, entitled “What Does the School District Owe My Child?” will take place at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the Sheraton Hotel in Eatontown, NJ. It will cover numerous topics critical to the educational well-being of preschool through high school, including:


           • Your Child’s Rights Under Federal and State Law

           • Contesting a School Board’s Decision – What You Can Do

           • Section 504 Plans

           • Individualized Educational Programs (IEP)

           • Due Process & Mediation

Families with children diagnosed with Aspergers, ADHD, Autism, behavioral disorders, cognitive impairment, developmental delay, hearing or visual impairments, brain injuries, learning disabilities, speech impairment or any other condition that potentially limits the child’s educational opportunities should attend this event.

The seminar will be presented by Sussan & Greenwald attorney Lori M. Gaines.  A former special education teacher, Ms. Gaines recently won a precedent-setting decision in the Third Circuit Court of Appeals which positively impacts the ability of parents of students with disabilities to obtain appropriate educational programs.
