MetroTex Honored by State Association for Annual Achievements

March 2, 2012 - PRLog -- Celebrating a year of accomplishments, the Texas Association of REALTORS recognized the MetroTex Association of REALTORS with two awards at its annual Winter Meeting in Austin.  MetroTex was awarded the Education Program of the Year award by TAR and MetroTex Immediate Past President, Patricia Szot was inducted into the Omega Tau Rho fraternity at the meeting.  

Education Program of the Year
This recognition marks the seventh consecutive year MetroTex has been honored for furthering real estate education in Texas with the Education Program of the Year award.  The award was given in recognition of an outstanding local-association education program that meets member needs and increases the quality of professionalism in the real estate industry.  The MetroTex event that won the award, “Technology: Analysis or Paralysis” was planned by the MetroTex Affiliate Forum Committee, chaired by Julie Jones with Nations Home Warranty, to help REALTORS stay on top of technology to respond to consumer needs in the social media world.

According to Annette Carvalho, MetroTex Director of Professional Development, it was important that attendees see what tools and technologies their peers are successfully using.

“Our committee wanted this technology program to be taught by REALTORS who are implementing these tools already in their businesses and to share specific examples of what they are doing to engage the public and create a more diverse relationship with their customers,” said Carvalho.

Omega Tau Rho Induction
After serving as MetroTex President in 2011, Szot was recognized for her career accomplishments with induction into the National Association of REALTORS Omega Tau Rho fraternity.  Recognizing REALTORS who have made outstanding contributions to the real estate industry, this honorary fraternity exemplifies the REALTOR’s pledge of performance and excellence to clients and each other.  Created in 1950, the fraternity now has approximately 4,000 members nationwide.
