Title: If I Could Be Your Pill
Artist: KDX
What would you get if you crossed Epic song-writing with killer 21st century dance productions?
Lofty claims?, inflated view of themselves?, not really just plain speaking and belief at work, ‘o’ and the passion to make the euphoria return to the dance floor, that once graced our beloved dance scene.
Just who are these people who threaten to take back the dance music scene, from the knarly headed knob twiddlers who care not for sweet harmony and the one love global family. Well be patient and we will reveal these free thinking liberators of the dance world.
Drum roll and trumpets please, Drrr!
Will the real KDX please stand up and reveal themselves.
Enter Dar.Ra and DJ X, ‘who you ask’?
Darragh aka Dar.Ra is a guy who has a dance track record with hits by Taste of Paradise on a track called Reach Out released by the classic Cooltempo label that reached the UK chart in the 90’s. Not content to sit on his backside Darragh had hits with Bliss, Urban Harmonix feat Rachel Brown of Faithless and Groove Armarda, in Europe and Australia. He has also created records under his own name of Dar.Ra producing a more organic Soul Rock crossover having a big selling debut album in 2010 called The Soul Hours also available on ITUNES. Bringing the euphoric vibe of 90’s house music scene mixed with 21st century production techniques is key to the KDX sound, and is sounding loud and clear on the ‘If I Could Be Your Pill’ released on ITUNES right now as we write this.
The vocals written and performed by Dar.Ra are more about being the lift for someone in their hour of need to take them out of the dark and into the light then being about misuse of substances.
The music is as you may expect if you carried on reading this far, is feel good hands in the air summer’s here vibe . The radio mix does what it says on the tin and comes in under 4.30 secs with more hooks than should be allowed, as does the 12 inch club remix which for our money has to be one of the best tracks made this century, sorry they we go again blowing our own wind instruments.
The radio and remix tracks have just been aired on Estonian TV on a documentary by a filmmaker called Juhan Aarr, about the up and coming super player in the global economy Kazakhstan. They have asked KDX go out and play in Estonia and the former Soviet State this year provided the planet is still here.
The video has also been licensed to one of the biggest distributors in the UK who have remixed the original video, made for the radio mix, into two new versions, for the ep. Both these mixes will find themselves in jukeboxes across the globe. Who said recycling was just for Green Party students and confused householders who forget, which bin to put out each week.
The tracks also being supported by UK independent Radio stations and Smooth FM in LA, while being carefully watched by the media eagles, who will wait till everyone else has made the move to play it, before committing themselves. We know how it is, and its cool, all good things come to those who hang around long enough.
