How pervasive are smart phones these days? Well, according to a study from the Pew Internet & American Life project revealed that over a third of all American adults—35 percent—now own and use a smart phone such as an Apple iPhone. Some employees are nervous of the “big brother” concept when it comes to GPS tracking on mobile devices. In 2011 the Supreme Court weighed in on the subject during U.S. v. Jones. The court made it clear that a reasonable expectation of privacy must be maintained.
