Walkaway Production chose the popular crowd funding web site Kickstarter.com to fund this project due to it’s reputation for helping productions like Walkaway find the funding they need to make a movie in today’s market. Kickstarter works by allowing individuals to donate money to the film and receive items of value like a DVD for that donation.
Walkaway is a very unique production since it will be distributed initially as an weekly web series available for free on the Internet and after the series completes it will be reformatted into a feature film. At that time you’ll be able to find Walkaway on DVD, Blu-ray, Netflix, iTunes, and other popular outlets.
The project is being produced by Chris Adler, a filmmaker in Sandy Utah. Chris was the writer and director of the award winning short film “Reco” which explored the relationship between a mother and the daughter she abandoned as a child in the late eighteen hundreds in Utah.
