March 1, 2012 - PRLog -- MILLVILLE, N.J. - There will be mud.

When Ultimate Mud Run: Night Ops comes to Millville, N.J., in April, participants can expect mud, and lots of it, in a fun, non-competitive environment.  There are no prizes for first place, and runners can choose a 2-, 4- or 7-plus-mile course based on their abilities, comfort level, and personal threshold for getting grimy.  Riddled with military-style obstacles – all lit in neon –  Ultimate Mud Run: Night Ops is about conquering your fears and pushing your limits, not beating the person next to you.

Ultimate Mud Run: Night Ops takes over New Jersey Motorsports Park April 21.  In addition to the run itself, expect live bands, food, beverages, some celebrity guests, a contingent of hardcore U.S. Marines as motivators, and lots of fun.

“This is an opportunity for average people to push their limits in a fun, controlled environment, while raising money for some great organizations,” says Phil Pirollo, Ultimate Mud Run event coordinator and obstacle designer.  “It’s more about facing your fears than athletic ability.  And because the course is flexible, you can choose your challenge.

“And as you can imagine, it will be a real party atmosphere, especially when we do this at night.”

This is actually the first Ultimate Mud Run to take place in the U.S. at night.  Presented by U.S. Mud Sports, the organization that plans similar events across the country, the event includes obstacles with names like Balls to the Walls, Cliffhanger and the particularly mud-entrenched Caught in a Cycle.

Runners who are at least 18 years old at the time of the event can register at http://www.ultimatemudrun.com.  Individual registration ranges from $124-$149, but registrants can save 10 percent by earmarking a portion of their fee for a charity of their choice, from a list that includes Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Purple Heart Veterans Foundation.  Runners can also sign up as a team captain and recruit their friends.

Or, you can purchase an Ultimate Party Pass for $24.  A great way to root for your favorite runner, the Ultimate Party Pass gives you access to all the food, beer and entertainment without actually getting dirty in the run.
